SIMPLICITY AND HUMBLENESS IS BETTER THAN
PRIDE AND ARROGANCE AND A COMPLICATED LIFE.
Have you ever noticed the
difference between those people who love worldly riches and those who do not?
The people who love worldly riches
are obsessed with how to obtain more of what they already have. They run frantically
around doing whatever it takes ( lying, cheating, oppressing, or stealing) to get more.
Little do they realize that obtaining worldly riches in abundant proportion will not get
them into Heaven. Pride, arrogance and looking down on others not as fortunate as you will
not get you one step beyond the "Pearly Gates".
People who lead simple and humble
lives seem to have a happier and more fulfilling life. They have more of a sense of
direction and focus which is not earthly, but heavenly. They take each day as it comes and
never look forward to tomorrow or the problems of tomorrow. God is their central focus and
they believe that He will provide their needs today and tomorrow or the next day after
that He will do the same. Just as God took care of the Hebrew children in the desert by
providing water and manna on a daily basis; so He can provide for anyone who trusts Him
without reservation. Humility and meekness are eternal values that will last forever.
Think of ways to simplify your
life so that God may be glorified.
Colossians 3:12-17 - God has chosen
you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So always do these things: Show mercy to
others, be kind, humble, gentle and patient. Get along with each other, and forgive each
other. If someone does wrong to you, forgive that person because the Lord forgave you. Do
all these things; but most important, Love each other. Love is what holds you all together
in perfect unity. Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking, because you were
all called together in one body to have peace. Always be thankful. Let the teaching of
Christ live in you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by singing
psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Everything you
do or say should be done to obey Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God
the Father through Jesus.
Prayer: Dear Father simplify my
life until only Thy Love is visible in me. Amen.
