Why I switched from Obama to McCain

I was a supporter of Barrack Obama, earlier this year, donating hundreds of dollars to his campaign, and basically doing everything I could, to help him win. I put up Obama signs, and Obama bumper stickers. And ordered Obama DVD's from his website to give away. And I emailed everyone I could, telling them to support Obama.

The reason I liked Obama, was his words about Hope, and “Change we can Believe in“. Because, I have been sooooo disappointed with the Bush administration and the war in Iraq.

I thought Obama would end the war and bring in a new era of peace around the world.

Why did I switch from Obama to McCain?

(1) The main reason is the way Obama treated his mother.

Obama had not spoken to his mother for years, and was not there, in the hospital, when she died of cancer in 1995. And Obama could not find the time to go to her funeral, for some reason.

Think about this: Obama wrote a book about his Father from Kenya (who basically abandoned the family), but never wrote a book about his mother.

You see no pictures of Obama with his mother in his later years on life, but only as a child with his mother.

He was too busy getting his education at Harvard to be with his dying mother. And his grand mother financed his education, but Obama had not seen his grandmother for over 2 years , I guess he has been too busy flying around the country, campaigning for President, to pay a visit to the old lady in the nursing home.

(2) I thought Obama would end the damn war in Iraq, and bring our troops home, and bring in a new era of peace around the world.

Now Obama says: he will withdraw the troops slowly......over 16 months ...but leave some troops there, for some reason. And even, go back into Iraq, if the situation flares up.

Obama even said, he would bomb Pakistan if he received intelligence that Bin Laden was there. Like the intelligence that Iraq had a nuclear bomb? He is going to rely on the same intelligence agencies that failed us in Iraq.

This does not sound like Obama will bring us Peace, but continued war.

So I am supporting John McCain, because he treats his mother with the honor and respect, the respect our mothers deserve, and because McCain’s foreign policy will be basically the same as Obama’s.

I have been a peace activist for 36 years, and wish we could get a President who loved Peace. But I guess its not meant to be.
